Heat-pipe cooled micro-reactor is currently being actively investigated in the NS&T department at INL. Given the high operation temperature and large temperature gradients in the system, the induced thermal stresses need to be well analyzed and kept within the safety margin. Two commercial FEM software (ABAQUS and STAR-CCM+) have been proposed to simulate and compare for both the temperature and stress distributions for the single heat pipe experiments, with the middle single heat pipe and 6 heaters surrounded. This presentation file is aimed to provide the latest updates for the researchers who is under NEAMS program and involved with the DOE micro-reactor program
